Game Day Update: Coach Bobbie James (Secondary) said

"A lot of people measure success by wins and losses. A score board doesn't tell you all that you need to know about what happened in a game. A win/loss record can't convey what happened any a season. I see small baby steps of improvement for our team. I'm confident that we will continue to make corrections, adjustments and progression. There is great potential and I look forward to seeing their development come to full bloom. We have a group of talented ladies. We have an opportunity for a successful season. We have to make some adjustments and we have to come together as a united front to give ourselves the best chance to meet the challenges that face us this season."

Defensive Coach Lance said "I think the team is coming together. I like what I see in their hearts and the fight they display on the field. We are still working on that knockout punch which I know we will see that in the upcoming game."

Chuys Children Giving to Children Parade
This was the first year the Outlaws entered a float into this annual parade and they had a great time collecting toys for the Blue Santa program!

Cactus Ranch Elementary School Hoe Down Festival
The Austin Outlaws volunteered their time at the Cactus Ranch Elementary School Hoe Down Festival this February. They manned the football throwing booth and took pictures with the kids. All kids also got a chance to put on Outlaw pads and helmets and experience what it feels like to be a football player. Players printed out the pictures with the kids and autographed them as well.

In the summer of 2000, professional women's full contact football was introduced to Austin, Texas. The announcement of professional NFL style tryouts drew hundreds of local female athletes who braved 110-degree heat to see if they had the right stuff.

2001 laid the foundation for Austin Outlaws. The young and hungry team played six games in venues all across the nation and won all but one, losing by only one touchdown in overtime. The Outlaws had made their mark!
